Fiona Ann Barker was 34 years old when she was tragically killed in a car accident three weeks before her wedding to Anthony Downs, in September 2006.
Fiona had been in contact with the CFE about arranging a stand at the Hatfield House Country Show.
Fiona was passionate about all aspects of the countryside and the country way of life. She was an accomplished horsewoman and hunted with the Oakley Hunt in Bedfordshire. She always took time and pleasure explaining the country way of life to others.
Fiona's fiancé, Anthony Downs, and her parents Ann and Gordon Barker and sister Claire, have decided that they would like to donate the Fund towards grants to individual teachers or farms to encourage a permanent link with local school children. If you are interested in applying for a grant, please contact Eileen Kelly (details below).
In order to make the fund sustainable, if you would like to contribute, please make your cheque payable to "The CFE, Fiona Barker Fund", and send it to:
Mrs Eileen Kelly The CFE PO Box 8 Hebden Bridge West Yorkshire HX7 5YJ
Tel: 01422 885566
E-mail: Eileen-kelly@countrysidefoundation.org.uk
The CFE will be exhibiting at the Hatfield House Country Show on 15, 16 & 17 August 2008.
