The Beaufort Polo Club, venue for this increasingly busy country fair, is a small and friendly club, set in one of the most spectacular parts of England, alongside the Westonbirt Arboretum. However, the serenity and tranquillity of the surrounding countryside is a complete contrast to the speed and energetic characteristics of the game of polo - arguably the most exciting game in the world for both spectators and players.
Visitors to this year's country fair were delighted to see world-class polo on Saturday,
whilst those attending on Sunday saw HRH Prince William of Wales playing in the winning polo team.
This hugely successful annual event also raises an amazing amount for the CFE each year and 2007 was no exception, with a cheque for £70,000 being presented at the end of the weekend.
Our thanks go to The Calcot Manor Hotel for once again being the main event sponsor, together with team sponsors Apes Hill Club Barbados and Churchill Retirement Living. Thanks also to supporting sponsors Hamptons International, Dreyfuss Watches, Cotswold Life and Cotswold Brewing Company, together with media sponsors, the Western Daily Press. Finally, a big thank you to Simon & Claire Tomlinson and their hardworking team at The Beaufort Polo Club for organising another tremendous event.
